Jerry B. Udell
Born in Hamilton, Ontario Jerry was called to the Bar in 1976. He joined Miller Canfield in 2017 as Senior Counsel, providing specialized counsel pertaining to real estate, mortgage remedies, commercial and business law, financial institution securities, civil litigation, real estate and real property transactions, construction lien matters, banking and bills of exchange, franchising, patent and trademarks, time share and time share interval conveyancing.
Jerry is one of 26 lawyers, in the Province of Ontario, Certified as a Specialist in Real Estate by the Law Society of Ontario. He also lectures frequently on behalf of the Law Society of Ontario and Canadian Bar Association in the Real Estate/Mortgage Remedy/Secured Transaction areas. Jerry was elected as a Law Society of Ontario Bencher (outside Toronto) in 2015. In 2016 he received the Ontario Bar Association Award for Distinguished Service. Jerry received the OBA Award for Excellence in Real Estate in 2017.
Jerry is also counsel to numerous banks and credit unions as well as the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee and brings with him almost 40 years of experience to the Land Development and Real Estate field of law. As well, Mr. Udell is a registered Patent & Trademark Agent certified by the Department of Consumer and Corporate Affairs Canada. He has been involved in numerous patent and trademark matters. Mr. Udell is also counsel to numerous banks and credit unions as well as the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee.
